The first floor offers visitors a unique journey through glass by the legendary glassmaker Petr Novotný. The exhibition presents his early works and pieces by leading Czech glass artists such as René and Miluše Roubíček or Jiří Šuhájek. Furthermore, you can find works from the Ajeto glassworks, which he co-founded with Bořek Šípek and Libor Fafala, including designs by Bořek Šípek and his own glass creations. The exhibition also includes works by his students, such as the world-renowned glass sculptor Martin Janecký, Jiří Pačínek, or Rob Stern, and original pieces from glass shows regularly held at Novotný Glass.
The second floor showcases the private collection of Petr Novotný, consisting mainly of gifts and acquisitions from his glassmaking friends, as well as works created in collaboration at the Ajeto glassworks. Among the many artists, we can mention Dale Chihuly, Peter Layton, James Mongrain, or Michael Behrens. Alongside well-known names, the museum also features prestigious glass trophies and awards, including those created for events such as the Tour de France, the Prague Marathon, and the Thalia Awards presented by the Actors’ Association to leading Czech artists in theatre, opera, and ballet.
