Pavel Werner (*1942) is well-known figure in Czech glass art. A glass artist, designer, educator and longtime director of the Glass School in Kamenický Šenov, he has devoted his entire life to glass and its endless possibilities.

He studied in Železný Brod and later at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague (UMPRUM) under Professor Stanislav Libenský. Since the 1960s, he has devoted himself to studio glass, particularly the technique of cast and fused glass sculpture, which he has continued to explore and develop throughout his career.

His work is characterised by expressive forms, contrasts between smooth and rough surfaces, and a fascinating interplay of coloured and clear glass. His pieces bring together carefully considered design with chance and the elemental force of molten glass.
